Project Description
The Computer Vision and AI based Automatic Number Plate Detection and Recognition System is developed to meet the specific challenges of the Ladakh region, where extreme weather, varying light conditions, and diverse vehicle types make conventional surveillance systems less effective. Leveraging artificial intelligence and advanced computer vision techniques, the system automatically detects vehicles and extracts number plate information in real time with high accuracy. It is designed to function reliably in conditions such as snow glare, dust, low visibility, and inconsistent plate formats. By integrating with local traffic management and law enforcement systems, it enables improved vehicle tracking, enhanced road safety, and efficient regulation of transport activities. This solution not only strengthens security and governance but also contributes to the development of smart infrastructure in high-altitude regions like Ladakh.
